Ben Pollock Holds Substantial Fundraising Lead in Oregon’s Fifth Congressional District Primary

April 16, 2014

Canby, OR — On Wednesday, the Ben Pollock for Congress Campaign issued the following statement:

“With the release of the latest FEC finance reports, the Ben Pollock for Congress campaign has now outraised its opponent in the Republican Primary by a margin of over four-to-one. In addition, the campaign has now raised nearly twice as much money as the 5th District Republican in the 2012 campaign.

These results are not surprising given the fact that the campaign has been on the ground in the District every day since October, and intends to remain engaged with the voters all the way to November and beyond. Ben Pollock’s unmatched energy and open and engaging style have led to a significant lead in fundraising, volunteers recruited, campaign organization, earned media, doors knocked, social media outreach, field and lawn signs, and overall grassroots momentum.

The people do not want another professional politician who does not live in the district, treats campaigning as an inconvenience, refuses to answer the tough questions, will not debate opponents, fails to knock on doors, or appear at candidate forums. It is clear that the voters of the 5th District are ready for a citizen representative to take on Congress and make Washington, D.C. as insignificant in their daily lives as possible.

We must now come together as Republicans, end the distractions, and focus our energy on defeating Kurt Schrader. This race is very winnable and we are the campaign equipped to sprint all the way to November.”
